Office of the Principal

As a 30 year educator in Texas school, both public and private, I bring a diverse set of educational experiences to Sheridan Elementary School.  As an extremely small campus, Sheridan has its own unique set of challenges and opportunities for both our students and our staff. The small classes will allow students at Sheridan to receive much more individualized attention from their teachers than those of larger campuses. Yet the smaller staff makes meeting the diverse curriculum a large challenge that requires some innovative scheduling and flexibility.

2020-2021 promises to be an extremely challenging year for all Texas educators and students, and these challenges will be just as great here at Sheridan Elementary School. The choices of remote versus face-to-face learning, the use of personal protective equipment, and the challenges of social distancing versus cooperative learning are just some of the challenges we all will tackle this year.

If you as a parent choose the remote learning option, I would encourage you to keep your child on a dedicated schedule to complete his or her assignments in a timely manner. For those who opt for the face-to-face learning, we as always welcome your children, and I would encourage you to stay in contact with your child’s teacher on a regular basis to monitor his or her progress.

As always, if you have any questions, please call the school and we will get you an answer. Our mission is and will continue to be to “provide a learning environment where all students will prepare for their next level of education, academically, physically and emotionally.”
